The Clinton Herald Tuesday April 30, 1996 p. 5 Clyde J. Saffer of Wyndcrest Nursing Home will celebrate his 95th birthday on Wednesday. He was born May 1, 1901, in Illinois. He married Irma Schwarz in April of 1927 in Clinton. She died in 1946. He later married Clara Johnson in 1948, in Clinton,. She died in 1987. He is the father of a daughter, Mrs. Ethel (Robert) Soesbe of Clinton. He has nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchidren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was employed at Clinton Corn, until retiring in 1965.
