The Clinton Herald Friday March 29, 2002 p. 11A Isabel Mary Larsen, 86, of Ames and formerly of Clinton, died Tuesday at the Green Hills Health Care Center, Ames. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Grace Episcopal Church, Clinton. Visitation will be from noon until the service Monday at the church. The Pape Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Clinton. Pallbearers will be Chris Melvin, Bob Drost, Richard Holm, Ed Hupfer and Bob and David McCloy. She was bortn on July 27, 1915, in Lyons to Carl Albert and Margaret C. Inwersen Buechner. She married Richard J. Larsen on Aug. 17, 1938, in Lyons. He died in 1992. She was a 1934 graduate of Lyons High School. She attended Iowa State University in Ames from 1934 to 1938. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, active in the St. Faith's Guild, Daughters of the Nile, Clinton Symphony Orchestra and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star where she served as a past matron. Survivors include a son, Richard James Larsen Jr. of Valley Forge, Pa., a daughter, Mrs. Carol (Stewart) Melvin of Ames; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
