Last Will and Testament of Julia A. Altman

I Julia A. Altman of the City of Lyons Clinton County State of Iowa being of sound mind and memory and of full age do hereby make and ordain this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made:

At my death I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.

I hereby give devise and bequeath to my son Montgomery H. Altman all my real and personal property in the City of Lyons, Clinton County State of Iowa on the following conditions – 1st. that he provides a home for Willie as long as he cho(o)ses to stay with him and when he Willie cho(o)ses to leave him he Montgomery H. Altman shall pay to Willie One Hundred dollars.

2nd. To pay James Altman Fifty dollars on or before two years after my death.

3rd. To pay Washington Altman Fifty dollars on or before two years after my death.

I hereby appoint (best guess) N. T. Hall ? executor of this my last will and testament.

Executed at Lyons City Clinton County State of Iowa this 10th day of September 1885. The foregoing instrument was at the date thereof subscribed by Julia A. Altman in our presence and she at the same time declared the same to be her last will and testament and by her request we signed our names thereto as witnesses both in her presence and in presence of each other.

I William Kreim, clerk of the District Court in and for said County do hereby certify that on this day at the January Term A. D. 1889 of said Court the will and instrument in writing hereunto annexed and bearing date in the 10th day of Sept. 1885 was duly proved before and allowed by said court as and for the last will and testament of the real and personal estate of Julia A. Altman late of said County deceased and was by said Court ordered to be recorded as such will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto at my hand and affixed the seal of the court at my office in Clinton in said County this 15th day of January A. D. 1889.
