The Clinton Daily Herald September 2, 1908 p. 6 Popular Young Couple Married Clarence Prentiss and Miss Maud Holleran Participate in Simple Wedding Ceremony This Morning A beautifully quiet wedding ceremony was performed at seven o'clock this morning at the residence of Father Comerford, when Miss Maud Holleran, and Clarence Prentiss were united in marriage. The young people were unattended, the only witnesses being the relatives and immediate friends of the contracting parties. Gowned in a traveling costume of white and black, with hat to correspond, the bride presented a charming appearance. After the ceremony an elaborate wedding breakfast was served, at the bride's home on South Sixth street, the dining room being beautifully decorated in palms and cut flowers. Many handsome and useful gifts were presented by the guests, who thus testified to their affection and the esteem in which the young couple is held. The bride is a most fascinating young lady, charming, accomplished, possessing a sweet disposition and the ability to win steadfast friends. Mr. Prentiss holds an excellent position as general storekeeper at Gorgona, Panama; he is a young man of sterling qualities, one who is in every way worthy of the respect and esteem of his friends who one and all extend congratulations. Mr. and Mrs. Prentiss left at 10:30 for the west, where they will spend a month in traveling, afterward going to Panama, where they will make their future home. The out of town guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Sparling, of Maxwell, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Corliss, of Eagle Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Mead, of Oklahoma and M.L. Prentiss of Belle Plaine.
