Frank Hamm of Garden Plain was charged with assault and battery in Judge Hoyt’s court yesterday morning, Phillip Moesinger being the complaint. Moesinger is the husband of Hamm’s divorced wife, and it appears Hamm came to Clinton Saturday after an absence of about two years to see his little boy who lives with his mother. Mrs. Moesinger, Hamm met Moesinger on the street Saturday night and demanded that he let him take the child to Garden Plain on a visit. Some words followed when Hamm suddenly dealt Moesinger a blow to is left eye, the latter retaliating by effectually closing the left optic of his opponent. Moesinger’s left hand was badly broken by coming in contact with Hamm’s eye, and it will be sometime before he can appear in the ring. The judge thought that ten days on the stone pile would fix Hamm’s eye up in shape, and he was booked accordingly.
