Civil Case
In the district court yesterday morning a divorce was granted to Mary A. Wilson from Geo. W. Wilson. The parties were married in this city April 17, 1887, and have been residents of Clinton the past four years. Mrs. Wilson states in her petition that her husband deserted her about a year ago and has ever since lived apart from her without any just cause or excuse; that since said marriage the husband became and still continues to be addicted to habitual drunkenness; that after marriage he adopted toward her a course of ill treatment; refused to do anything for her maintenance, and frequently by force compelled her to give him money which she earned by days’ work on the washboard to purchase intoxicating liquors, and on numerous occasions struck and ill-treated her and in such way and manner as to injure and undermine her health, and thereby endanger her life.
