The Courts
Owen Golden, convicted of the murder of James Ordway in this city in 1887, was before the court yesterday for sentence. Golden withdrew his motion for a new trial and was sentenced for twelve in the penitentiary in Anamosa. The prisoner expressed the utmost satisfaction at his sentence, which means only eleven months if strictly obeys the prison rules. L. A. Ellis, appointed to aid in the prosecution in this case was allowed $100 compensation for his services.
