The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, April 2, 1886

The L. C. P. W. S. D. met last Thursday at the residence of Mrs. J. W. Harding on Sixth Avenue and put together a handsome quilt, one block of which was contributed by each of the ladies. The society of which there are an even dozen meet at the residence of one of the members and each brings her block, and there amid the social converse (all talk at once) the blocks are joined and a handsome quilt is the result. The day’s work is then presented to the hostess. The meeting yesterday was held at the residence of Mrs. Rightmire on Fourth Avenue.
