The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, April 2, 1886
The alarm of fire last Saturday was occasioned by the burning of a small dwelling house owned by D. L. Ryder, Esq. and occupied by Richard Simpson. The building was worth about $400 and was insured for part of its value. The building was totally destroyed.
