The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 23, 1885
Sneak thieves stripped a clothes line in the yard of Mrs. A. C. McNamus, Tuesday night, taking a large line full of gentlemen’s shirts, hosiery and underwear. As the lady is poor, and depends solely on washing for a living, it will be difficult for her to make up the loss, as the entire washing was the property of her customers.
