The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 31, 1879

Thomas Darland, living near Agricola, met with a very sad and sorrowful death on Monday night. He was in town during the day and started for his home, but instead of arriving at home, he was found dead in his bed in Agricola the next morning. It is presumed he froze to death. He leaves a wife and one child.
