The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 24, 1879

Mr. and Mrs. George Mayhew were very forcibly reminded of their tenth wedding anniversary Monday evening, by the appearance of a host of friends, laden with articles of tin ware. The storming party met at the residence of Mr. Olds on Third Avenue, and proceeded to the home of Mr. Mayhew. Mr. and Mrs. Mayhew were remarried by Rev. J. C. Cowden, and a presentation speech was made by Commissioner Brainard, followed by a brief response by Mr. Mayhew. A fine supper was served and at a late hour the guests departed.
