The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 10, 1879

Mr. J. C. Eghmie, working for Frank Pipping, was struck on the neck by a rapidly revolving crank, which knocked him down and severely injured him, causing hemorrhage on the throat. His neck swelled up to almost double its natural size. Though the blow was a severe one, Mr. E. is around again.
