A Speech – We do not wish to speak disrespectfully of J. Ellen Foster, Esqress, but her appearance yesterday in the Habeas Corpus case before Judge Hayer, was certainly uncalled for and unnecessary. It was a case where certain woman have been bound over to the next term of Court on the charge of prostitution, and the application was made for her discharge. In the management of the case for the State or somebody else, Mrs. Foster as Attoryness, was compelled to use language unbecoming to a lady, even in a court of justice. Now all male attorneys will not take all cases offered them, and we should suppose a case might be so bad that even a female lawyer would refuse it. As a friend and well-wisher of Mrs. Foster we advise her to let such cases go to men who delight to manage them. She cannot handle them without herself becoming the subjects of remarks, and this it is her duty to avoid for her families sake, if for no other.
