JAMES N. DAWSON, farmer, Sec. 25; P. 0. Grand Mound; was born in Greene Co., N. V., in 1820. His parents, Richard H. and Emily Dawson, came to Orange Township in the spring of 1841; his father died in DeWitt, in September, 1878; his mother
died in June, 1874. Mr. Dawson married Eliza Goudie, of DeWitt; she died in January, 1849. His present wife was Miss Arsella Hayes, a native of Pennsylvania. He has one son, George, by
first marriage; has four sons and three daughters by second marriage—Wilmott Lewis, Joseph, Elmer, Ada, Anna and Myrta.
