GAULT, A. J., (p. 359) was a pioneer settler of Clinton County who was well known locally as the editor of the Clinton County Advocate and the Wheatland Spectator. He was also a poet and his poem/song "Twenty Years Ago" was one of Abraham
Lincoln's favorites. His son, A. W. Gault, was also a notable Clinton Co. editor.
