Valentine Barringer / Beringer

My great great grandmother, Catherine Probst, died 6/16/1882 in Wagner, Clayton Co., IA, and it states on her death information that she is also buried in Wagner, although I could not find her listed on your web site. I am really looking for information on her father, Valentine Barringer aka Beringer etc., born in Germany in 1801, immigrated to U.S. in January of 1847. He was in Wagner Twp., Clayton County in 1870 (Bearinger), On the passenger list in 1847, his name was listed as George Beringer with sons Adam and Jacob. On his Naturalization record in Dearborn Co., Indiana in 1852, his name was Valentine Beringer with sons Adam and Jacob. I would like to find a death date and place. Were there any newspapers in Clayton Co. at that time? An obituary would be of great help.
