Harriet/Mary HANSEL(23DEC1829MD-28JUN1885IA d/o John HANSEL & Mary Ann ECKHART) seems to have been Andrew LEWIS'S(1814OH-1886IA) second wife, whom she married March 11, 1858 in Clayton Co. IA by R. W. KAUFMAN(Minister of the Gospel). Harriet, born in the area of Frostburg in Allegany Co., MD, appears in 1850VA & 1856IA Census with parents & appears in 1860IA Census as Andrew Lewis's wife named Mary(Prob. baptismal name after mother).

Andrew LEWIS came to Iowa c1850 & by first wife Jacqueline(1818VA-1857IA) had: Harvey(Henry) LEWIS b.1841OH, Aaron Vance LEWIS 1842/3OH-1898IA m Anna E. RIDENOUR(1843PA-1914IA), Alphius LEWIS b.1844OH, Angeline LEWIS 1846OH- m John SCHWIGHERT, Lucy LEWIS 1849OH-1860IA, Andrew LEWIS JR b.1850IA, Lucenda LEWIS 1854IA-1883IA m Will BERGER, Alcinda LEWIS b.1856IA. In the 1885 IA State Census, he was listed as a store merchant in Osterdock\Clayton\IA. Harriet/Mary HANSEL-LEWIS died in the Osterdock area of Clayton Co., IA where she is buried in the Lewis Cemetery on Lewis Farm in Jefferson Twp.\Clayton\IA. No children.

No other information since my connection is thru the HANSEL'S.
