Louisa Fredarika Christiana Hagge was born May 19, 1856 at Glamback, Mecklenburg, Germany, where she grew to womanhood. On October 14, 1881, she was united in marriage with Mr. Chris Warning. Soon after their marriage, the young couple immigrated to this county. For many years, they made their home at Mt. Clemens, Michigan. From there they came to Strawberry Point in 1888, which place has been their home ever since.
This union was blessed with seven children, Julia, Anna, Christina, Paul, Emma, Freda, and Edith, who passed into the great beyond in infancy.
Mrs. Warning was in comparative good health up to Saturday, January 6th when she was taken with a severe cold which devleoped into pneumonia and caused her death on Friday evening January 12th, at the age of 60 years, 7 months and 23 days.
She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, six children; Mrs. Dr. Van Meter, Clarinda, Iowa; Mrs. F. L. Brinacombe, Anamosa, Iowa; Mrs. John Koehlin; Paul; Mrs. C. A. Bruns, all of Westgate, Iowa and Miss Freda of Strawberry Point; a brother, Chris Hagge of Strawberry Point and eight grandchildren and numberous other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Chris Warning was a life long and exceptionally loyal member of the Lutheran Church. For thirty years, she was a member of the Lutheran congregation at Strawberry Point. One of whom all who knew her, speak in terms of praise.
The funeral was held at the church Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Carl Bembold of Lamont, Iowa.
