Alois Kadlec

Alois Frank Kadlec was born Oct. 19, 1911, in McGregor, IA, to Frank and Antonia Michaels Kadlec. He died Monday, Sept. 3, 1990, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital in Guttenberg, IA.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. He received his education in country school.

On June 1, 1934 he was married to Helen D. Meyer at St. John's Lutheran Church in Farmersburg. They had 3 daughters. He farmed in Wagner twp. near Farmersburg. They moved to Monona in 1952. He worked for the Monona Lumber yard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, who died Sept. 5, 1980 and a daughter, Elaine.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Sharon Kadlec of Guttenberg and Virginia Peterson of Oelwein; 2 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Edmond of Elkader and Les of Oelwein and one sister, Irene O'Brien of Austin, MN.

Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 6, 1990 at 2 p.m. at Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona. Pastor Harold McMillin and Pastor Ellen Taube officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Church cemetery in Monona.

Pallbearers: Gene Nevermann, William O'Brien, Richard O'Brien, Scott Lestina, Jim Tayek and Bob Teyek.
