Funeral services for Helen Kadlec were held Thursday, September 11, 1980 at St. Parick's (sic) Catholic Church with Richard Bohr officiating. Pallbearers were Allison Fuelling, Carl Fuelling, LeRoy Fuelling, Bill Fuelling, John Fuelling, and LeRoy Schmidt. Honorary pallbearers Leonard Schissel, Lester Gruel, Ben A. Lestina, Harold Lenth and Palmer Brownson. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Monona. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona was in charge of services.

Helen Dorothy Kadlec, the daughter of August W. & Ella Caroline (Henkes) Meyer, was born September 18, 1910, in Wagner Township. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg. She received her education in the rural school and graduated from Monona High in 1929.

On June 1, 1934 she was united in marriage to Al Kadlec at Farmersburg by Rev. Adix. To this union three children were born, Elaine, Sharon and Virginia. She and her husband farmed until 1952 at which time they moved to Monona. She became a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in 1962, was a member of the Rosary Society.

She died Sunday, September 7, 1980 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin, having reached the age of 69 years, 11 months, 19 days. Preceeding her in death were her parents, her infant daughter, Elaine.

Surviving her are her husband, Al, her two daughters, Sharon, at home, Mrs. Benjie (Virginia) Lestina of Oelwein, two grandchildren, Scott and Kimberly Lestina, also of Oelwein.
