Mrs. Johanningmeier Laid To Rest

Funeral services for Mrs. Arlo (Lucy) Johanningmeier were held Mon., Nov. 6 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, at 2 p.m. Pastor R. E. Langholz officiated. Organist was Mrs. George Heins with congregational singing.

Pallbearers were Orville Mueller, Reuben Mueller, Duane Lubbers, Louis Miller, James Mathews, Robert Mueller, Merle Miller, Eldo Johanningmeier.

Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Monona.

Lucy Emma Mueller, the daughter of Fred Mueller & Mary nee Radloff, was born Sept. 15, 1907 in Farmersburg Township, Clayton County. She was baptized in January of 1908 by Pastor Burkhard and was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, in 1920 when Rev. Brown was the pastor. She attended a rural school near St. Olaf.

She was united in marriage with Arlo Johanningmeier on Oct. 10, 1923 at St. Olaf. They have farmed east of Monona since their marriage.

Mrs. Johanningmeier was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Monona, and was a member of the Peace Circle. She became very ill about 10 days ago and passed away last Thursday at the age of 65 years, 1 month, and 18 days.

Surviving are her husband, Arlo; two sons, LeeAllen & Donald of McGregor; one daughter, Mrs. Roland (Sharon) Troester of Garnavillo; one brother, Fritz Mueller of Farmersburg; three sisters, Mrs. Wm. (Ella) Lubbers of Postville, Mrs. Harvey (Linda) Klasen of Farmersburg, and Mrs. John (Alice) Kiple of Minneapolis; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death were three brothers, Marvin, Louis & Carl Mueller, and one sister, Mrs. George (Marie) Pixler.
