HAROLD WILLIAM SCHROEDER

Harold William Schroeder was born Jan. 31, 1912 in Clayton County to William and Rose Holly Schroeder and attended rural area schools. Feb. 22, 1938 he married Florence Hamann at St. Paul's Lutheran parsonage in Monona. They farmed in the Monona area until retiring in 1967, but continued to live on the farm.

He had served on the boards of Northeast Iowa Telephone Co. and Luana School District and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Luana where he served as a council member and deacon.

He died Saturday, July 21 at Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, WI. His funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Luana with Pastor Ted Ager officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona in charge of arrangements.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Jerry of Luana and Larry of Monona; six grandchildren, and two sisters, Gladys Bruehahn of McGregor and Vivian Scheffert of Luana.

He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Harriet Bacon.

Casket bearers were Donald Bacon, Walter Bruehahn, Jim Duvel, Gary Gress, Delbert Scheffert and Norman Mueller.
