Lenora Louise Schave

Lenora Louise Schave, daughter of William and Leona (Lewin) Clefisch, was born August 16, 1913 at Guttenberg, IA. She was baptized October 12, 1913 by Rev. Busholm at Ceres Church and confirmed March 24, 1929 by Rev. Emil Lehne at St. John's Lutheran Church, Gettenberg. Lenora graduated from Guttenberg High School on May 24, 1928. She completed two years of business training in 1930.

Lenora was united in marriage to Clarence C. Schave on February 1, 1941 at Guttenberg, IA. She was employed as a bookkeeper with Schave Garage, Luana, which she and her husband owned and operated for 30 years. She was a member of WELCA. Lenora enjoyed crocheting and cake decorating.

Lenora died Sunday, November 14, 1999 at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence, who died February 24, 1982; and two brothers.

Survivors include three daughters, Judy Henkes Ball of Prairie du Chien, WI.; Carol and husband Roger Wettleson of Gunder, IA.; and Linda and husband Duaine Davis of Luana; ten grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Lorena Nichaus of Guttenberg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 18, 1999 with Rev. Christopher Staley officiating. Burial was at the Postville Cemetery, Postville, IA.

Pallbearers were Jeffrey Wettleson, Gregory Wettleson, Douglas Wettleson, Chad Davis, Paul Jensen, Larry Hunter, Fred Huff, Stan Mielke, and Rich Moon.
