Eldo Carl Sass
 
Eldo Carl Sass, the son of George Sass, Sr. and Louise nee Suelter, was born July 2, 1904, in Monona Township, Clayton Co. He was baptized on Aug. 28, 1904, by Rev. Braun, Lutheran pastor. On Sept. 5, 1920, he was confirmed in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Monona by Pastor Albert Daugs.

On Dec. 11, 1930, he was united in marriage with Laura Sass at the Lutheran parsonage by Rev. Albert Daugs. Two children were born to this union, Mrs. Lorraine (JoAnn) Lenth of Luana, and Ramon of Monona.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. For some time he has been in ill health. On Dec 1, 1973, he died at Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wis., after several weeks of illness. He reached the age of (illegible) years, 4 months and 29 days.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, William, George and Hubert, and one sister, Mrs. Paul (Ella) Brase.

Surviving are his wife, Laura, one daughter, JoAnn, and a son, Ramon; five grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. Harvey (Meta) Sass, Mrs. John (Lucy) Sass, Mrs. Erwin (Mildred) Lembke, and Mrs. John (Leona) Froning, all of Monona.

Funeral services were held Wed., Dec. 5th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church with Intern Slade and Pastor Ehlers officiating.

Music was provided by congregational singing with Mrs. Geo. Heins at the organ.

Pallbearers were Edward Sass, Norbert Lembke, Donald Sass, Dale Kurth, Harland Kottman, Karl Wilker, Richard Appel and Calvin Henkes.

Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Monona.
