WILLIAM "Bill" FRED SCHNUELLE

Funeral services for William (Bill) Fred Schnuelle were held Thursday, Oct. 30, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. The Rev. Julius Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery, Monona.

William Fred Schnuelle, son of Simon and Elizabeth (Heins) Schnuelle, was born Aug. 9, 1905 at Postville. He died Oct. 26, 1986 at the University Hospital in Iowa City.

He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. He attended the Highland School.

On Nov. 29, 1935 he was married to Lela Harnack at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona. They had 5 children. They have lived on the farm north of Postville all of their lives.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Elsie Colvin, Clara Schultz, and Vila Mathis, one brother, Fritz and a grandson in infancy.

Surviving are his wife, Lela, 3 daughters, Mrs. Delfred (Genevieve) Milbrandt, Waucoma, Mrs. Dale (Georgia) Sowers and Mrs. Al (Marjorie) Spilde, both of New Hope, MN, 2 sons, Junior and his wife Annette and Gene, all of Postville, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, Mrs. Louis (Laura) Ihde of Monona, Mrs. Elmer (Marie) Ihde, Anna Schnuelle, Lydia Schnuelle, all of Ossian, one brother, Clarence of Waukon and many nieces and nephews.

William was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Casket bearers were Chad Schnuelle, Charles Schnuelle, Roy Schultz, Warren Sowers, David Spilde and Gene Rubendall.
