MRS. HUBERT (Elsie Elizabeth Ihde) LENTH

Elsie Elizabeth Lenth, daughter of William and Freda Sass Ihde, was born Nov. 18, 1902 in Farmersburg Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1993 at the Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union.

She was baptized Dec. 14, 1902 at Farmersburg, and confirmed April 1, 1917, also at Farmersburg. She received her education in the rural country school. Elsie was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona and the Peace Circle.

She was united in marriage to Hubert Lenth on Jan. 26, 1921 at St. Paul Lutheran, Monona. Her hobbies include working with flowers and houseplants, crocheting and baking. Elsie had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Postville since May 1, 1992.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Hubert, who died May 16, 1976; and brothers and sisters Elmer, Linda, Hilma and Herb.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Alvin and Laura Lenth and Elden and Bea Lenth, both of Postville, a daughter and her husband, Marjorie and Maurice Landsgard of St. Olaf; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Ron and Kathy Lenth, Arlyn and Susi Lenth, Julie and Lynn Hageman, Georgene and Darrell Hatlevig, Doug Lenth, Barb and Matt Reynolds, Larry Landsgard, Lynn and Paul Hauser, and Mark and Marie Landsgard; 17 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 13, 1993 at St. Paul Lutheran in Monona, the Rev. Terry Hudson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Ray and Darlene DeSotel. Pallbearers were her grandchildren and their spouses. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Monona. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services.
