Telegraph Herald, Dubuque, Ia. - Sunday, May 4, 2003

Jean Kathleen (Palm) Kochendorfer, 82, of 1102 River Park Drive, Guttenberg, Iowa, formerly of Dubuque, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Dubuque. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Asbury, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, l640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.

She was born on Feb. 4, 1921, in Dubuque, daughter of John and Gertrude (Raskop) Palm. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1939.

She married Louis D. Kochendorfer on Dec. 24, 1948, in Dubuque. The couple established their home in Guttenberg after World War II where they lived and raised their family.

Jean was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was happiest spending time with her family.

She was a member of St. Mary's Parish, Guttenberg, formerly sang in their choir and was active in other church activities.

Surviving are her husband, Louis, of Guttenberg; sons, John Kochendorfer, of Guttenberg, Bill (Jean) Kochendorfer, of Dubuque, and Adolph (Julie) Kochendorfer, of Fort Dodge, Iowa; daughters, Sue McCusker, of Manchester, Iowa, and Gina (Dennis) Delaney, of Peosta, Iowa; and six grandchildren, Terra (Todd) Miller, of Hilliard, Ohio, Zachary Ungs and Sean Delaney, both of Peosta, Nicole McCusker, of Manchester, Iowa, and Jackson Kochendorfer and stepgranddaughter, Veronica Hollister, both of Fort Dodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Maurice and John Palm; a nephew, Dennis Palm; and two brothers-in-law, Adolph Kochendorfer IV and William B. Kann.

A Jean Kochendorfer Memorial Fund has been established.
