Darlene Kishman

Darlene Ida Emma Kishman, 89, of Monona died Monday, September 19, 2011 at her home after a brief battle with cancer. Funeral Services were held Thursday, September 22 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona. The Rev. Scott Duffus officiated. Burial was in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Monona.
Darlene was born September 11, 1922 in Giard Township in Iowa to Harvey and Irene (Henkes) Kuthe. She was baptized February 12, 1924 and confirmed August 28, 1932 in the Lutheran faith. She attended country school as a young girl and later graduated from Monona High School.
Darlene was united in marriage to Lawrence Kottman June 29, 1944 at the Lutheran parsonage. Three children were born to this union. Darlene later married Keith Kishman June 6, 1964 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
As a young woman, Darlene did housekeeping and later worked at McGregor Electronics. She then worked for Monona Wire Corporation for 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona and was a circle member. She was also involved in several card clubs.
Survivors include her husband, Keith Kishman of Monona; two daughters, Sandra (Ron) Grady of Monona and Brenda Lamb of Waukon; three step-children, Carlean (Mike) Lange, Duana Atherton and Laone (Teri) Kishman; seven grandchildren, Ronda (Randy) Glawe, Randy (Sarah) Grady, Chad White, Stacy Larson, Craig White, Shannon (Sheila) White and Cindy (Damian) Copp; seven step-grandchildren, Casey Atherton, Joel Atherton, Adam (Stacy) Lange, Patrick (Kally) Lange, Ben Kishman, Emily Kishman and Erin Kishman; 15 great-grandchildren, Ryan (Amber) Glawe, Kaitlyn Grady, Elizabeth Grady, Eric Grady, Emi Grady, Samantha Larson, Chase Sorum, Jessica Murphy, Jordan Murphy, Braiden White, Grant White, Carter White, Levi White, Collin White and Kayden Copp; two step-great-grandchildren, Carter Lange and Kayla Lange; and a sister, Imogene (Harlan) Bentien of Monona.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter at birth.
Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona assisted the family with arrangements.
