John H. Casten

John Henry Casten, 49, of Postville, died April 22 at Marquette.

John Casten was born June 15, 1929 in Postville, the son of Lorenz and Irene (Dickman) Casten. He attended school in Clayton County and farmed in Clayton County until he retired in 1978, and moved to Postville. He was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, in which he was both baptized and confirmed.

He is survived by his mother, Irene Casten of Postville; one brother, Leon of Des Moines; two sisters, Elaine of Postville and Mrs. Hugh (Mary) Wurmie of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norris C. Swenson officiated.

Burial was in the Postville Cemetery. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
