Funeral services for Laura M. Hupfer, age 95, former Monona, Iowa resident were held on Wednesday, January 16 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lake-Thornburg Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin with burial in the Monona City Cemetery in Monona, Iowa.

Laura Martha Sophia, daughter of John and Maria (Hoth) Baade, was born July 20, 1895 at Froelich, Iowa in Clayton County. She married Herbert Hupfer in Chicago, Illinois. They were the parents of two sons. The lived most of their lives in the Monona-McGregor, Iowa areas. Herb and Laura Hupfer operated the Gambles Store in Monona for many years. Laura belonged to World War I American Legion Auxiliary for 70 years.

Laura M. Hupfer died Sunday January 13, 1991 at the Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herbert who died in 1975, 5 brothers, George J. Baade, Henry J. Baade, William C. Baade, Arthur F. Baade, and Gustav Baade, and 5 sisters, Louisa Gilster, Mathilda Kliefoth, Leona Anderson, Etta Schmitt, and Jenne "Jenny" Case.

She is survived by her two sons, James Baade of Little Rock, Arkansas and Max Baade of Bowie, Maryland; 1 grandson; also brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vern and Amanda Hupfer of Monona, Iowa

Laura M. Hupfer, 95, of Prairie du Chien, died Sunday. Jan. 13. 1991 at Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien. WI. She was born July 20, 1895 at Froelich, IA to parents John and Maria (Hoth) Baade. She married Herbert Hupfer in Chicago. IL. he preceded her in death in 1975. They lived most of their lives in the Monona and McGregor, IA area. She belonged to WW I American Legion Auxiliary for 70 years.

She is survived by two sons James & Judy Hupfer of Little Rock, AR. Max & Virginia Hupfer of Bowie, MD and one grandson.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday. January 16. 1991 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lake-Thornburg Funeral Home with burial in the Monona City Cemetery, Monona, IA.
