Donna Mae Martins, daughter of William and Matilda (Schroeder) Topel, was born May 1, 1929 in Monona Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She was baptized January 1, 1930 and confirmed January 10, 1943. She received her education in the Evergreen Grove County School. Donna was united in marriage to Delos Martins on October 28, 1951 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa. For over 30 years she made and decorated cakes for special events such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Donna was a member of the Monona Merry Mixers. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Donna died Thursday January 14, 1999 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Florence Martens, and Viola Russell.

Survivors include her husband, Delos; 2 sons, Dennis (special friend LuAnn Kann) Martins of Monona, Iowa and Daniel (Coleen) Martins of Monona, Iowa; 1 daughter, Debra (Rick) Moose of Monona, Iowa; 8 grandchildren Craig Martins, Blane Martins, Allyssa Martins, Adam Martins, Drew Martins, Bailey Martins, Amber Moose, and Kelby Moose; 1 sister, Iva (Donald) Henkes of Monona, Iowa, and nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers were Craig Martins, Blane Martins, Jim Henkes, L'Dean Henkes, Don Martens, and Daryl Henkes. Honorary pallbearers were Mr. and Mrs. Marlyn Nuehring, Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Landt, Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Landt, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Schrader, and Mr. and Mrs. Romandus Gisleson.
Burial was in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Monona, Iowa.
