Funeral services for Raymond Mielke were held Saturday, February 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Garden City United Methodist Church, Monona, Iowa. Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiated. Honorary pallbearers were Milton Gramlich, Walter Mielke, Art Voss, Albert Elet, Kenneth Duwe, Reuben Kruse, Veryl Kelley, Wilbert Topel, Jerry Klotzbach, Don Havelick, Gary Palmer, and Danny Kruse. Pallbearers were Frank Schlitter, Roger Strelow, Wayne Mielke, Ron Leas, Kevin Henning, Ken Steege, and Kurt Hauschild. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz Funeral Home of Monona, Iowa was in charge of the arrangements.

Raymond Fredrick Mielke, son of Otto H. and Selma (Elet) Mielke was born November 22, 1914 on the home farm east of Watson. He received his education at the Schmidt School. Raymond was united in marriage to Helen Schlitter on April 27, 1937 at the Evangelical Parsonage. They farmed east of Watson. Raymond enjoyed farming and spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Raymond died Wednesday, February 16, 2000 at his home in Monona, Iowa

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Gerald Mielke.

He is survived by his wife Helen, a daughter, Joyce (Nile) Kruse of Monona, Iowa; 2 grandchildren Jeff (Julie) Kruse of Monona, Iowa and Julie (Tim) Sostak of St. Charles, Missouri; 4 great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jon Kruse, and Jacob and Zachary Sostak; a special cousin, Dorothy Dallman of Mauston, Wisconsin and a sister-in-law, Madonna Mielke, of Monona, Iowa.

Raymond Mielke, 85, died Feb. 16 at his home in Monona. Funeral Services were held Feb. 19 at Garden City United Methodist Church, Monona, under the direction of Rev. Dennis Gilbert. Burial followed in the Monona City Cemetery.
