Funeral services for Fred Reetz, 72, a former Marquette resident, were held Tuesday morning,
November 27, at 9:30 in St. Ann's church at Harpers Ferry. The Rev. William Leonard officiated and burial was in Pleasant Grove cemetery, McGregor. Mr. Reetz passed away Sunday morning, at the General Hospital in Prairie du Chien after a short illness. Before his retirement he was an engineer on the I. & D. division of the Milwaukee railroad for 45 years, the family living most of those years in Marquette. After his retirement, he and Mrs. Reetz purchased a home in Harpers Ferry. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Harpers Ferry in 1942.

Surviving besides his wife are four sons, Dale of Lansing, Iowa; Lyle of Charles City, Darwin of Turner, Montana, and Donald of Dubuque; two daughters, Mrs. Izetta Lucas of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Corrine McLaughlin of Marshall, Ill. A brother, Carl, of Charles City and three sisters, Mrs. Esther Keiser and Mrs. Martha Cunningham of Charles City and Mrs. Ruth Arthur of Waterloo, and a number of grandchildren.
