Frances Mae Owen, 77, of Eureka, Illinois died Friday, March 10, 1989 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. Mae was born May 20, 1911 in McGregor, Iowa to Louis and Ina (Sawvell) Burckart. She married Harley D. Owen on June 19, 1929 in McGregor.

Her husband survives, along with two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Kathryn) Williams of Topeka, IL, and Mrs. Victor (Ina Mae) Meinecke of Prospect Heights, IL; one brother, Fred Burckart of Dubuque, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Thomas of Beaumont, TX and Mrs. Lucille Bollman of Strawberry Point, Iowa; three grandchildren and five great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, one brother and one sister.

She was a member of St.Luke's Catholic Church in Eureka and had been employed as a telephone operator at the Old Eureka Telephone Company. She also had been a secretary for the Woodford County Home Bureau, retiring in 1962.

She was a member and past president of the Eureka's Women's Club, a member of the Home Bureau, St. Luke's Ladies Guild and a former American Cancer Society member and volunteer.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St.Luke's Church, the Rev. James Carr officiating. Burial will be in Olio Cemetery, Eureka. Otto-Argo Funeral Home in Eureka handled the funeral arrangements.
