MRS. E. H. SARGENT SUMMONED

Last rites for Mrs. E. H. Sargent, who died at her home here Saturday afternoon, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal Church with the pastor, the Rev. Glenn S. Hartong in charge. Music for the service was provided by Miss Betty Blanchard and Eldon Stafford. Those who bore the casket were Fred Tracy, Al Stamp, George Steward, Earnest Eppler, John Tinker and Emanuel Arnold. Burial was in the local cemetery.

Julia Ophelia Waite, daughter of George W. and Louisa Waite, was born on a farm near County Corners, [January] 11, [1865] and passed away March 30, 1940 at her home in Strawberry Point. On May [22], [1882] she was united in marriage to E. H. Sargent at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. To this union were born nine children, seven sons and two daughters, Harford G., Stanley T., Elwin F., Ralph O., and Gladys Kimpston, all of Strawberry Point, Emery [R.] and Lavera Fink of Cedar Rapids, Leon of Arlington and Paul of Charles City, all of whom were present at her bedside when the end came.
She also leaves eighteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. George Benson of Strawberry Point. One brother and four sisters having preceded her in death. She had been in failing health for the past four years but her last illness was of short duration. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, American Legion Auxiliary and was a charter member of the Rebekah Lodge.
Besides a loving husband, nine children and sister, she leaves to mourn her loss a host of other relatives and friends. A faithful wife, a loving mother, a good neighbor, a devout Christian, has been taken to her reward.

Plummer and children, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Plummer, Mrs. Leona Clarke and son, Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Clarke, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Snyder of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dunsmoor of Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dittmer of Oelwein; Mr. and Mrs. Mart Gruman, Mr. and Mrs. R. Sheldon, Mrs. Grace Smith and sons, Wayne and George of Lamont; Mrs. Frank Brady of Edgewood; Mrs. Martin Kimpston of Fayette; and Mrs. Willerton of Arlington. ̶ Press Journal
