SCHOLL, Elma

Services for Elma I. Scholl were held at the Schultz Funeral Home in Monona, Iowa at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 1969 with Rev. Paul V. Clements
officiating. Pallbearers were: Robert Smith, Lester Kaeser, Kent Kaeser, Norman Smith, Earl Smith, and Donald Smith.

She was born the daughter of Norman and Gertrude, (nee Moyer) Smith on May 15, 1901 five miles north of Monona. She passed away at her daughter's home in Chicago, Wednesday May 14, 1969.

She was educated in the rural schools of the area. Much of her life was spent in the Monona vicinity. She operated a restaurant in Monona and was a cook in Iowa City. More recently she had made her home in Chicago with her daughter and family.

She married Earnest Scholl in 1919. He died in 1932. Preceding her in death was her husband, her brother Elmer and her sister, Mildred.

She was a member of the Monona United Methodist Church. Surviving are: her son Blayton Scholl of Cambria, California, her daughter Mrs. John (Mila) Blaine* of Chicago, Illinois; her brothers Loren Smith of Decorah, William Smith of Volney, Melvin Smith of Waterloo, Carl Smith of Monona; her sisters Mrs. Lester (Grace) Kaeser of West Branch, Iowa, and Mrs. Don (Caroline) Kerr of Fredericksburg, Iowa. Surviving grandchildren are Michael Blaine of Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs. Dona Owens of Springdale, Arkansas.
