He was sick about two weeks, and every effort was made known to medical skill to save him from the hand of death. The messenger of death claimed him Sunday afternoon surrounded by his sorrow stricken wife and relatives.

Le Gand White was born in McGregor Jan. 5th, 1874 and grew to manhood in this city and was therefore 27 years of age at his death. He was a steady industrious young man full of energy and pluck having established himself in business.
He was married to Miss Altha Flagg at the home of the brides sister at Tindale, S. D. Nov. 7th, 1900. They went to housekeeping a week before he was taken sick.

The funeral services were held in the Congregational church Tuesday afternoon which was filled with sorrowing friends, and members of the different orders of which he was a member. Itasca Lodge I.O.O.F., Sherwood Camp M.W.A. and the City Fire Department. Itasca Lodge had charge of the services at the grave. Rev. C. A. Marshall officiated. Rev. Marshall touched the heart of many of his audience in his practical way of coming right home to every one.
The funeral was one of the largest that occurred in the city for a long time. Le Grand White leaves to mourn his loss, a widow, father Pembroke White, Mother Caroline Francis "Perry" White, and three sisters.

Mrs. Frank Crow of Rossville, a sister of Mrs. Le White was in attendance. The news extends sympathy to the bereaved widow and relatives. Funeral Director C. C. Weber. Burial Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor, Iowa
