Marlow Gisleson Services Held

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 4, 1979 at 10:30 a.m. at Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, for Marlow Henry Gisleson. Pastor R. D. Ehlers officiated. Pallbearers were Eugene Plozel, Lynn Martinson, Tom Schofield, Jim Klinge, Ken Bloyer, Vernon Kolbe, Marlyn Henderson. Burial was in Marion Cemetery in Gunder.

Marlow Henry (Red) Gisleson, the son of Henry and Flossie Refle Gisleson, was born January 7, 1932 in Clayton County, Iowa. He was baptized at Marion Lutheran Church, Gunder, and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Luana. He received his education in the Luana School.

He was united in marriage to Helen Havlicek on September 23, 1961. To this union, one daughter, Barbara, was born. His family also included a stepson and stepdaughter, Dwight and Susan Hanson. He was employed by Sawyer Tie Company for 14 years. He died after a sudden illness on Saturday, December 1, 1979, at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, having reached the age of 47 years, 10 months, and 24 days.

Preceeding him in death was his father, Henry, who died in 1973. Surviving him is his wife, Helen; his daughter, Barbara, at home; his stepson, Dwight Hanson of Dubuque; his stepdaughter, Susan Hanson of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Flossie of Luana; one brother, Romandus of Luana; two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Madonna) Stumme of Postville and Mrs. Harvey (JoLena) Levenhagen of Monona. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
