Services were held at Marion Lutheran Church, Tuesday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. for Lena Landsgaard Nyhus, who died Saturday, April 20 at the Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

The daughter of Even Landsgaard and Gunhild Hegelin Landsgaard was born July 13, 1892 at Gunder, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Marion Lutheran Church, Gunder, where she remained a lifelong member.

She received her education in the rural schools of Clayton county and was united in marriage with Alvin Clark of Elkader, in 1914. They had one son, Quinton. The couple engaged in farming on his home place until his death in 1919 at which time she moved with her son to Gunder to make her home with her brother Tom Landsgaard.

In 1948 she was married to Henry Nyhus at Forest City, Iowa. After his death she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Ole Embretson in Elkader for several years, helping care for them. The last three years she had kept house for Bud Wells in Elkader until she became ill. After being hospitalized she stayed with her son and wife for a time, then was cared for by Janice Hoth in her home at St. Olaf.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands Alvin Clark and Henry Nyhus, three brothers: Esten, Tom and Gunner Landsgaard who died in infancy, all of Postville. She is survived by her son Quinton Clark and his wife of rural Postville; a granddaughter Mrs. Bryce (Sheila) Gause of Indianola, Iowa; a sister Mrs. Emma Anderson of Fayette; two nieces, two nephews, several step-children and other relatives.

Burial was in the Marion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
