Weller, Anna (Siegele) 1867-1942

Mrs. Anna Weller was born in Wurtenburg, Germany, on April 10, 1867, and died December 8 at her home northwest of town after an illness of two and one-half years. Mrs. Weller came to the United States at the age of 4.

She was the daughter of the late Samuel Siegele and Anna Thuringer Siegele. She was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Emporia.

She was married to Fred Weller on March 23, 1889, at McGregor, Iowa. They came to Lyon county in 1904. Mr. Weller died March 28, 1938. Mrs. Weller is survived by two sons: S.C. and W.F. Weller, Americus, four daughters, Mrs. Jonn Siegele, McGregor, Iowa, Mrs. John Gray, Mrs. Amanda McGowan, Americus, and Mrs. W.J. George, Miami, Florida and fifteen grandchildren.

The funeral was held Friday at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Tonsing, of Emporia, and the Rev. Harold Brown, of Americus, in charge. Mrs. Herbert Anderson and Mrs. John McCammon accompanied at the piano by Mrs. W.R. Rapp were the singers. Pallbearers were Roy Gray, Robert Hansen, Orin Norris, Wm. Proehl, Henry Proehl, and Ernest Snyder. Burial was in the Americus cemetery.

Date of death was 8 December 1942. Obit was from Americus, Kansas newspaper.
