Orlando William Fascher

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on May 1, 2004 at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa for Orlando William Fascher with interment in the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery at Farmersburg. Leonard Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of arrangements.

Orlando William Fascher, 83, Monona, died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at the Great River Care Center, McGregor, following a short illness.

Orlando was born on August 20, 1920, to Fred and Martha (Kuhse) Fascher on the family farm near Farmersburg. He graduated from Farmersburg High School in 1938.

He was united in marriage to June Holly on September 10, 1945, at Peace United Church of Christ parsonage in Elkader. Four children were born to this union: Becky, Kristy, Renee and Stephen.

Orlando and June farmed near Farmersburg until their retirement in 1980. They continued living on the farm until 1996, when they moved to Monona. Orlando was an avid sports fan, enjoying hunting and fishing. He played sports in high school and enjoyed watching all sports at all levels. He was especially proud of his grandchildren's achievements.

Survivors include his wife, June Fascher, of Monona; daughters, Becky (John) Rugland, of Little Rock, AR, Kristy (Bill) Garms, of Monona, Renee (Dave) Storkson, of Prairie du Chien, WI; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Orlando was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Stephen Fascher, one grandson, Kyle Storkson, two brothers, Ewald Fascher and Otto Fascher and three sisters, Elsie Sanger, Adele Lenth and Elenor Wilkinson.
