Wm. Timmerman Dies After Illness

William John Timmerman, 73, died Friday morning, May 9, at his home east of Monona after being ill for the last four months.

He was the son of Fred Timmerman and Sophia Stolp and was born in Mecklenberg-Schwerin, Germany, Oct. 13, 1867.

When the deceased was 3 years old, his family came to this country, settling first in Wisconsin, but shortly moving to what was then called North McGregor. He lived in this vicinity ever since.

Sept. 27, 1900, Mr. Timmerman was married to Hermina Witt. Besides the widow he is survived by eight sons, Henry, Grover, Harry, Herman, Theodore, Frank, Willis and John; four daughters Mrs. Herman Topel, Mrs. Will Ferguson, Mrs. Martin Bechtel, and Mabel; three brothers, Charles of McGregor, Herman of St. Paul, Minn., and Henry of Plentywood, Mont; and 20 grandchildren.

One sister, Mrs. George Frohwein preceded him in death in 1928.

All of the children except Willis and John are living in or near the home community. Willis is in the army, stationed now at Tacoma, Wash., and the address of John is unknown.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the house to Pilgrim Evangelical church with Rev. H. W. Raduege officiating. Burial was in Council Hill cemetery.

Music at the church service was rendered by a duet composed of Mrs. Gaylord Schlitter and David Schlitter with Mrs. H. W. Raduege at the piano.

Pallbearers were: Mike Jermeier, Paul Mielke, Henry Krueger, Christ Levenhagen, Wm. Wilke and A. A. Schlitter.

Card of Thanks: We wish to tnak all neighbors and friends who have been so kind and thoughtful of us in our recent bereavement. Our thanks to all who gave sympathy by word of mouth, sent cards, and presented flowers, and to those who assisted in the services in various ways,
