Josie Mayleen (Perkin) Perkins Krambeer

Funeral services were held for Josie Mayleen (Perkin) Perkins Krambeer at 11:00 a.m. on March 05, 2004 at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, Iowa with interment in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Luana, Iowa. Leonard Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of arrangements.

Josie Mayleen Perkins Krambeer, 88, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa following a long illness. Josie was born on November 15, 1915, in Liscomb, Iowa to Ole J. and Mabel (Small) Perkin.

She was united in marriage to Jack Perkins on May 15, 1935. Four children were born to this union, Jack, Larry, Beverly and JoAnn. Josie worked as chief telephone operator for N.E. Iowa Telephone Company in Luana for eight years until the company switched to dial in 1962.

On November 4, 1962, she married Robert Krambeer. Josie’s passions were her family, friends, crocheting, playing cards, bingo, triomino’s and her hot peppers! Robert and Josie worked hard at Krambeer’s Construction Company in Monona. They retired and spent twenty-seven winters in Yuma, AZ, which they both loved dearly.

Survivors include her children, Jack (Rosie) Perkins, Camden, AL, Larry (Karolyn) Perkins, Chino Valley, AZ, Beverly (Walter) Phillips, Des Moines and JoAnn (Jim) Klein, Cherokee Village, AR; twelve grandchildren twenty-two great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Arthur Ferkin, Whittier, CA and sister Mayme Ringis, Rosemead, CA.

Josie was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, sister, Maureen Burger, brother, Otis Ferkin and a great grandchild.
