Funeral services were held for Dorothy Bernice Corlett at 10:30 a.m. on March 06, 2004 at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, Iowa with interment in the Giard Cemetery, rural Giard, Iowa. Leonard Funeral Home, Monona, in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Bernice Corlett, 85, Farmersburg, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union following a long illness.

She was born September 11, 1918, in rural Clayton County to Hanford and Alice (Haltmeyer) Knudson. She graduated from Farmersburg High School and attended Normal School at Cedar Falls for one year. Dorothy taught country school near St. Olaf until her marriage.

She was united in marriage to Robert Kaiser Corlett on June 14, 1941. Three children were born to this union. Dorothy was a 4-H leader, an avid reader and a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, IA. She worked in the Clerk of Court office until her retirement.

Survivors include her children, Susan (Roger) Hadley, Forest City, IA, Gail (William) Trueba, Mountain Home, ID, Todd (Jan) Corlett, Cheney, WA; five grandchildren, Sarah (Michael) Ray, Ann Arbor, MI, Christopher Hadley, Boone, IA, Stefanie Corlett, Guttenberg, IA, Robert Corlett, Guttenberg, Isabelle Corlett, Cheney, WA; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Marjorie Corlett, Farmersburg, IA and Norma (M.J.) Moore, Riceville, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in May, 1971.
