Alice M. Clough

Alice Marjorie Clough, 92, of 901 W. Third St., formerly of 250 W. Sixth St., died Thursday evening, Dec. 2, 2004, at ManorCare Health Services.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral home, 3860 Asbury Road, with the Rev. Steve Meysing officiating. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Clough worked in the housekeeping department at Loras College.

She was born on Jan. 6, 1912, in McGregor, Iowa, daughter of Arthur and Adelia (Eggen) Hultgren. She married Clyde Clough on July 12, 1929, in Postville, Iowa; he died July 6, 1994.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Surviving are three daughters, LaVonne (Eugene) Thurston, of California, Sharon (David) Jaeger, of Dubuque, and Janice (Allen) Freese, of Bellevue, Iowa; a son, Duane R. (Donna) Clough, of Dubuque; 16 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; and three sisters, Irene Williams, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., Jean Smith, of Rockford, Ill., and Delores (Fred) Beyhl, of Port Byron, Ill.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Richard.

Submitter notes: Adelia (Eggen) Hultgren, Alice's mother, was the daughter of Ole Eriksen and Olive (Langen) Eggen. Ole Eriksen came from Norway in 1873 and settled in McGregor, Iowa. Adelia had 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
