Mary Radloff

Funeral services for Mary Radloff were held at 2:00 o'clock Friday, May 23, 1980 at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, with Pastor Lee Mentink officiating. Pallbearers were Loren, Charles, William and Robert Radloff, Robert Saacke and Leonard Tietz. Burial was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of services.

Mary Ida Radloff, the daughter of John and Mary (Klinkenberg) Martins was born June 4, 1897. She was baptized September 5, 1897, by Rev. J. Appel and confirmed April 9, 1911, by Rev. W. Paulsen at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana. She received her education in the schools of the area.

On March 10, 1915 she was united in marriage to William Radloff. To this union two sons, Elmer and Melvin, were born. She was a loving wife and mother, they shared their life on their farm until their retirement to Luana in 1942.

She died suddenly at her home on Monday, May 19, 1980, having reached the age of 82 years, 11 months, 15 days. Preceeding her in death were her parents, her sister, Mrs. Gus (Anna) Lenth, her brothers Leska and John Martins, daughter-in-law, Delpha.

She is survived by her two sons, Elmer of Monona, and Melvin of Postville, their wives Irene and Dorothy; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Walter (Elsie) Tietz of Postville and Mrs. Roy (Effie) Saacke, Farmersburg, and one brother, Gerwin Martins, Postville. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
