Funeral Services Held For Laura Radloff

Funeral services were held at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg on June 23, 1973, with Pastor David Heck officiating, for Laura Radloff. She passed away on June 21, 1973, at the age of 79.

Pallbearers were William Scherf, Sr., Harley Palas, Orval Mueller, William C. Reardon, Herbert Zurcher, Kenneth Behrend. Honorary pallbearers were Elmer Muller, Louis Breitsprecher, Rev. R. H. Steege, Fritzie Mueller, Carl Radloff, Wesley Lenth. Burial was at the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery.

Laura Marie Radloff, daughter of William and Wilhelmine (Polkow) Reinke, was born in Wagner Township, March 2, 1894. She was baptized March 13, 1894, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clayton Center, by Rev. F. W. Seifert and was confirmed at Farmersburg in 1908 by Rev. Gadow. She attended school at the Looby School near Farmersburg.

On March 7, 1916, she was married to George Radloff in the St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg by the Rev. Fred Braun.

They then operated a grocery store in Farmersburg for 25 years, after which they moved to a farm near Farmersburg. In the fall of 1949 they moved into town and it was here that Laura and George lived until Laura's death.

Laura and George Radloff celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1966.

Laura Radloff entered Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien in February of 1973. She was able to come home several times during the year. She was re-admitted for the last time in May of 1973.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Chas. (Juneaver) McNichols of Farmersburg, three sons, Donald of Uvalde, Texas, Virgil and Kenneth of Farmersburg, six grandchildren, one great-grandson and other relatives.
