Ruth Hope Turner

Ruth Hope Turner, 65, Postville, died May 7 at the home of her niece in rural Preston, Minn.

Ruth Hope Turner, daughter of Harry and Mae (Mill) Turner, was born June 17, 1913 on a farm in Monona Township, Clayton County. Her parents moved to the farm south of Postville where she spent her entire life. After graduating from Postville High School in 1929, she played a major role in operating the family farm with her brother Dale.

She was a 4-H leader for 17 years; Sunday School secretary; and a member of the Community Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by three brothers: Harold, Dale and Boyd, all of Postville; two sisters: Mrs. Joyce Kerr, Castalia and Mrs. Ewald (Lois) Brandt, Postville; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at Community Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m., May 11. The Rev. William Tjaden officiated.

Burial was in the Eno Cemetery. Schutte Funeral service was in charge of arrangements.

Postville Herald newspaper clipping, hand dated 1979, from my mother's obituary collection. Submitter has no further information.
