Rites Held For Henry Radloff

Henry C. Radloff, the son of Charles F. Radloff and his wife, Minnie Schmidt Radloff, was born August 21, 1891 in Clayton county, Iowa. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church, Clayton Center, on April 7, 1892 and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Luana, April 16, 1905. He died at the Cedar Valley Hospital in Charles City, on June 15, 1962 at the age of 70 years, nine months and 24 days. He had been a patient at the Cedar Valley Hospital since June 11, following an automobile accident while enroute to Postville.

He was married to Mahala Hoth on February 25, 1914. To this union were born four children. They farmed in the Postville area until three years ago, when they retired and moved to Clear Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Mahala, Clear Lake; two sons, Harley J. of Luana and VerDean of Postville; two daughters, Lillian, Mrs. Milo Jacobia, of Postville and Donna Mae, Mrs. Milton Olson, of St. Olaf; one brother, William of Luana; two sisters, Mrs. John Lenth of Monona and Mrs. Harvey Hamann of Garnavillo; 12 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville from 1915 until he moved to Clear Lake three years ago and united with Zion Lutheran Church of Clear Lake.

Funeral services were conducted at the Wilcox Funeral Home in Clear Lake on June 18, at 9:30 a.m. and at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Postville on June 18, at 2:30 p.m., with the pastor, the Rev. Charles E. Witt, officiating. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
